The tenant had been cleaning the mould repeatedly, but it returned within weeks. The landlord needed a lasting solution to meet their obligations under the Homes Act. Our Solution ------------ We installed continuous mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) in the bathroom and kitchen, and a positive input ventilation (PIV) unit in the hallway to improve whole-dwelling airflow. All mould-affected surfaces were treated with a fungicidal wash and repainted with an anti-mould paint system. The Result ---------- Mould has not returned in the ten months since treatment. Humidity levels across the flat now stay within an acceptable range, and the ventilation units run quietly in the background.
